A Fence Company Hutto TX Families Count On, From Old Town to the Newest Subdivisions
Many newer Hutto homes came with a builder-grade fence or a bare backyard. Under them is dark Blackland Prairie clay that swells after a hard rain and cracks open in a dry August. Every cycle pushes on shallow posts, so the fence leans, the gate drags and the dog finds the gap. Then there’s the HOA form, and in Old Town, a city permit and historic review on top of it.
You shouldn’t have to become a fence expert to get a backyard you can use. As a fence company Hutto TX homeowners can count on, Sagamore Fence & Deck has been building fences and decks in Central Texas since 2007 (officially incorporated in 2013): nearly 20 years, nearly 10,000 clients and more than 18,000 projects. We’re based nearby at 6550 FM 1105 in Georgetown, our crews are fully insured, and every project carries a 1-year warranty on all labor and workmanship.
We build cedar privacy fences, board-on-board, iron, vinyl and chain link fences, plus wood and composite decks and pergolas for the back patio. We set posts deep in concrete for expansive clay and design to your HOA’s style and stain rules. When a project needs a city permit, we mark up your property survey to show where it goes and handle the permit from start to finish.

How Fence Installation in Hutto Works
ESTIMATE
Book a free on-site visit, or get a ballpark first with our instant quote tool. We walk the fence line, check drainage and the clay, and read through your HOA guidelines with you.
DESIGN
You get a clear design and a written quote. If your home is in Old Town or your project needs a Hutto city permit, we prepare the paperwork and mark up your survey for it.
CONSTRUCTION
Once approvals are in hand, our crew sets every post deep for shifting clay. Most of our fences are built in 2 days, and a deck takes about 1–2 weeks depending on size.
SUPPORT
Open the back door and let the kids and dogs run. Your fence or deck carries a 1-year warranty on all labor and workmanship, and we're still a phone call away.
OUR PRICE MATCH GUARANTEE
Between the HOA, the builder fence and the budget, there’s a lot to weigh. Got a written quote from an established fence or deck company of similar size? We’ll match it, and we can often beat it, on the same materials and scope. Your fence is still built by our insured crew and backed by our 1-year workmanship warranty.

WHO WE WORK WITH

OUR CLIENTS
Proudly Serving Hutto Homes & Businesses
RESIDENTIAL
Most Hutto projects start with the backyard: a privacy fence that passes HOA review, a gate that latches, a safe space for kids and dogs, and often a deck so the patio finally gets used.
COMMERCIAL
Hutto’s business growth along US 79 and SH 130 means more lots that need a secure perimeter. Our crews put up chain link, security fencing and automatic gates for those commercial and industrial sites.
MUNICIPAL
Fencing for parks, schools and public buildings has to hold up and pass inspection. As a Texas HUB-certified business, we’ve built it for the City of Georgetown and the Georgetown Fire Department, the City of Round Rock, the City of Temple, the City of Burnet, the City of Austin, the City of Leander, Capital Metro, Central Health and several Central Texas charter schools.
We are very happy with our new fence from Sagamore. Loren and his crew did a fantastic job, demonstrating quick, high-quality work, attention to detail, and great care with our landscaping. They were friendly and patient with us throughout the process, which we especially appreciated since we were indecisive clients. We definitely recommend Sagamore!

Hutto Fence & Deck FAQs
Do I need a permit to build a fence in Hutto, TX?
Usually not for a backyard fence on your own lot. The city’s building permit list includes fences only in the Historic Downtown District, and most new fences in Old Town also need a Certificate of Appropriateness from the Historic Preservation Commission. Your HOA or deed restrictions can still require approval, so we check both and handle any permit for you.
How tall can my fence be in Hutto?
It depends on where the fence sits on your lot and what your HOA allows. Front-yard fences are usually held to tighter limits than backyard fences, and height rules can change, so we confirm current rules with the city and your HOA before we design.
My address says Hutto. Do the city's rules apply to me?
Not always. Some homes with a Hutto mailing address sit outside the city limits in Williamson County, where different rules apply. Tell us your address, and we’ll check which rules cover it.
Why do fences lean in Hutto?
Hutto sits on Blackland Prairie clay that swells when it’s wet and shrinks in drought. That movement pushes shallow posts out of line, so we dig deeper holes, use enough concrete and keep water draining away from each post.
Do I need a permit for a deck or patio cover in Hutto?
A patio cover does. It’s on the city’s building permit list, along with additions to existing structures. Whether a deck needs one depends on its design and how it attaches to the house, so we confirm with the city and handle the permit if it’s required.
How long does a fence take in Hutto?
Most of our fences are built in 2 days. HOA approval is often the longest wait, so send us your guidelines early and we’ll build the design around them.
