Ornamental Iron & Steel Fence Installation in Austin & Georgetown

Iron and Steel Fencing Built for Central Texas Properties

An ornamental iron fence gives you a secure boundary without closing off the view. It works around front yards, pools, sloped Hill Country lots, HOA common areas and commercial properties, and it pairs well with stone columns, wood and a matching gate.

Sagamore Fence & Deck installs ornamental iron and steel fencing across Austin, Georgetown and Central Texas from our base at 6550 FM 1105 in Georgetown. Most of our iron work uses quality standard panel systems that fit most budgets, and we turn to custom fabrication when a project calls for it. If you were considering aluminum, iron is often the more budget-friendly way to get the same look. Either way, we plan the layout, set the posts and hang the gates so the fence looks clean and stays straight.

Our Ornamental Iron & Steel Fence Services

Most properties are a good fit for a standard panel system. Some need something more. We help you pick the right approach for your yard, your budget and the look you want, then build it as part of our full fence installation service.

Standard iron panel systems

Quality pre-made ornamental steel panels give you a finished, consistent look at a price that fits most budgets. We help you choose the style, height and picket layout, then install the panels on properly set posts.

Custom fabrication

When a project calls for it, we fabricate custom iron and steel work: arched gates, unusual openings, special heights or details that a standard panel can’t match.

Iron fencing for slopes and rocky ground

Plenty of lots around Austin and Georgetown slope or sit on limestone. We lay out the fence to follow the grade, using rackable panels or stepped sections so the bottom line stays tight to the ground.

Pool and safety fencing

Iron is a popular choice around pools because it’s strong and easy to see through. Pool barriers come with legal requirements, so we plan the height, spacing and gates around the rules that apply to your property.

Low maintenance

There are no boards to replace or stain. An occasional rinse and a touch-up on any scratches keeps the finish looking sharp.

Handles slopes and rocky ground

Rackable panels and stepped layouts let an iron fence follow uneven Central Texas terrain.

Ornamental Iron Fence FAQs

Do you install wrought iron fences?

Most fences people call wrought iron today are ornamental steel or iron panel systems, and that’s what we install most often. We use quality standard panel systems that fit most budgets, and we custom fabricate iron and steel work when a project calls for it.

It depends on the length of the fence, its height and style, the terrain and how many gates you need. Standard panel systems fit most budgets, while custom fabrication costs more. We give you a written estimate after looking at your property, and our instant quote tool can give you a ballpark first.

Yes. On sloped lots we use rackable panels that follow the grade or step the panels down the hill, depending on the slope and the look you want. Both keep the bottom of the fence close to the ground.

Often, yes. Many cities require a fence permit and many HOAs require design approval. In Georgetown’s Old Town and Downtown historic districts, front-yard fences generally need to be no taller than 4 feet and at least 50% open, or they need a Certificate of Appropriateness. We check the requirements for your address, handle the permit when one is needed and prepare the documents your HOA asks for.

Yes. We build walk gates and driveway gates to match, including arched and custom gates, and we can design an automatic gate system with access control.

Iron is a popular pool fence material because it’s strong and easy to see through. Pool barriers have legal requirements for things like height, openings and self-closing, self-latching gates, so we plan the fence and gates around the rules that apply to your property.
